Shiseido White Lucent Brightening Spot Control Base UV

When I needed a more flawless complexion, I always apply my foundation after a base. I love my Shu Uemura’s UV under base mousse. You can read about it by clicking right here.
I have also been alternating it with Shiseido White Lucent Brightening Spot Control Base UV which comes with SPF 35. I’ve been using this product for a little more than a month now, and I have no complaints. The one that I have is in shade Ivory. My skin tends to get oily by lunch time (if I applied my foundation in the morning before work) and the oiliness tends to make my skin look dull. This base feels lightweight, makes my skin look brighter and I find that it mildly controls shine as well.
With regular use, this product which is suitable for all skin types, claims to even out skin tone while providing hydration. So it’s makeup with goodness. I’m all for it!

On weekends, I usually just apply this after my sunscreen, sans foundation. It works pretty well on me. Here are the swatches…

Not blended
Here, it’s blended in. Notice the difference?
This product also comes in other shades – green and purple. I have not tried those yet. Have you? Share with me if you have!! I’d like to know =)

I have also been using the Shiseido White Lucent Intensive Spot Targeting Serum for the last 6 weeks. I’ll tell you more about it later. click here to check it out.>Have a great weekend!

Nice reviews.. I would love to buy this. Is this can be applied on bare face or on top of moisturizer ?

  2. Lily says:

@S.A.: Thanks! I prefer to use it after a light weight moisturiser. This is after all, just a base, that helps brightens and evens out your skin tone. Once in a while though, I do get lazy… heheh!!

i was googling for reviews for this and haha i found u lily!

    XD

what do u think of this if compare to shu uemura’s?

    also…how much is it? roughly?

    thanks a lot! ^^

Lol! That was one of my earlier posts when I still had no idea what a review should be about! If you have dry skin, go for the Shiseido one. If you have oily skin, go for the Shu Uemura one because it controls oil much better!

      • Gin says:

ah,so this one has no oil control? or less oil control? i am combination skin thats why hehe… in terms of coverage(i know i know… i shouldnt expect coverage in base XD) how is this like?
i have the shu uemura and i felt it doesnt cover anything…and i chose the wrong colour(pink) appart from being tooo bright, i dont enjoy any goodness..

also…erm,do u remember how much is this?
        thanks lily!

        • Lily says:

I can’t remember how much it is, sorry! I don’t think there’s any oil control factor. The Shu Uemura I have is in beige and these two don’t offer much coverage. I usually put a layer of foundation on top.
What base are you looking for?

          • Gin says:

well actaully i am finding substitute for the lunasol one i am using…i am loving it and they have to stop it and reformulate =.=
thought of trying other brands coz lunasol is 25ml…finishing fast! T.T
perhaps i will try their reformulated version….

            • Lily says:

Which Lunasol base is it? I’ve tried their samples of some face primers but found I liked MUFE HD primer and Dior better…
