Dior Fall Blue Tie Collection 2011: Smoking White (002)

This palette comes in a sleek shiny compact and if I had a nickname for the colours, I’d call it the Sparkly Highlighter palette. You’ll see why…

See the colours? They are matte grey (top left), shimmery pale silver (top right), glittery silver (bottom right) and sparkly white (bottom left).

 

 

The gloss is a nude colour and just like Smoking Blue (001), the gloss is separated from the eye colours by a flip up cover.

 

 

Below are the colours up close. Looks like nothing really… but when swatched…

 

 

I like all colours EXCEPT the matte pale grey (top left of the palette). This texture is the same as 001′s matte dark grey colour. There is not much colour pay off and it’s ridiculously difficult to get the colour onto my fingers for swatching. The rest went on smoothly and the texture is buttery.

 

I can’t imagine anyone using ONLY these colours to make a look work, unless it’s an ice queen theme or something like that. These, in my opinion, are great highlighting shades, that’s it. I would probably have to use other colours I have to make it work.
Do I need a palette full of sparkly shades like these? Uummm….
