Sunday Sharing: Vacation Zits?
Would you be surprised if I told you that my skin was doing so much better and then the zits long gone decided to join me for a vacation? As in, they started popping out when I’m on holiday! So I have a theory. Maybe a few disorganised random thoughts that you might need to help me sort out. Here goes.
I went to Melbourne Australia, where the temperature was 20 degree Celcius lower than Malaysia – at the very least. So, naturally, the skincare I packed was more for hydration. I had Clinique Moisture Surge, and my trusted Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair and Dior One Essential. I was probably over excited, applying the Estee Lauder ANR day and night, hence the breakout. I reduced the frequency to night only after about 4 days into it. Problem NOT solved.
So, what now? Maybe my face was dirty. I was out nearly the whole day every day, and even in the car, the windows were down. It was nice and cool, but dust was still everywhere. My exposure to it was definitely much higher than when I’m at home or at the office. Maybe that was it.
And maybe, it is the drastic change in weather itself. My skin was stressed at the sudden change and decided to warn and alert me by popping up zits.
I am home now, and everything just kind of stopped. Zits shrunk, face started getting oily again (it was beautifully matte and dewy when it was cold) and the humidity made my skin seem more sticky than ever after being in a cold and dry country for 2 weeks.
Have you experienced anything like this before? Maybe you have some answers for me, and I’d love to hear it!
