Dior Cherie Bow Palette 002 Rose Perle
In every collection, there is a star product. For Spring 2013, Dior Cherie Bow’s star product is this palette below. The one I have is 002 Rose Perle which is the lighter version. At first glance, I prefer the darker palette, but the more I get to know Rose Perle, the more she is growing on me.
The Cherie Bow Palette comes in a slim bow like case, with plastic flip top and metal base. Its design is simplistic, and sweet at the same time. The 3 colours of the case, coincidentally, are very similar to what we have inside. We open the case, to find 3 eye shadows, 1 black liner and a lip gloss hidden in the flip top divider. Dior has made this design theirs, and like I’ve said many times before, it’s great. There are 2 applicators inside the palette, and I usually throw these away. For this palette, in particular, I find the applicators rather unhelpful.
The 3 eye shadows are shimmery white, pale pink and a warmer candy pink. The black cream liner is actually a soft black, not a fully opaque black. The complementary lip gloss is a peachy pink, which don’t show up much on my lips at all.
These eye shadows are difficult to pick up with the sponge applicators. They are also difficult to swatch using fingers. They feel hard on the surface, and lack the soft buttery feel of their quints. However, when picked up with a brush, there isn’t any problem! All the shades go on my lids smoothly. There is minimal fallout only with the shimmery white shade, while the other two are pigmented and easily worn on the lids for a brightening effect. The cream liner doesn’t transfer on my lids, and I like to use black eyeshadow to press over the liner. I like my blacks to be really black, not soft.
I have done a look using this palette, and I will show it to you in my next post. While the palette is not something I’d pick for myself, it does provide a variety in my stash. The quality is good (when using eye brushes!), the packaging is girly, and when worn, eyes look angelic. Yes, angelic, wide eyed, bright eyed
Stay tuned for that post!
This is my last review of Dior’s Cherie Bow collection. Did anything catch your fancy? Have you picked up anything? My recommendation would be the blush. Go for Tender Coral…. my fave

Oo la luxe! I still haven’t tried any Dior but this palette looks so cute.

Hi xLoveHappyx, thanks for dropping by. You should try some Dior if you can. Lovely stuff
I think I like the other palette a bit better. I usually don’t like cream and powder products in the same palette as well but Guerlain Liu is just amazing

Oh yes, I definitely like Liu much better… I have to take it out again and show it more love
Oh talkin bout Liu palette, do u hv any probs with its sponge applicator? My sponge came off and I hv only used da palette 3 times! Im so so disappointed!
I don’t really use the applicators though. I prefer my own brushes
that’s the case with all my guerlain sponges actually. since I use my brushes, it doesn’t bother me that much. but all my guerlain palettes are without their sponges after a few swatches, I use them only for swatches, they are very good for that).

I do that too! I use the sponge applicators for swatches then I don’t use them again >.<
I am especially drooling over the lipshades there and the texture and … well, the whole palette is a winner

I’m glad you like it, Claire
The lip gloss shade doesn’t show up on me though
This isn’t something I would imaging myself picking up either, although I can see it creating a very lovely look.. I look forward to seeing it! I think that they should swap out that lip pie for another shadow, I find a waste

What a great suggestion! Yes, it would be great if they swapped it out for a darker shadow. It would’ve been so much better
Usually I’m a fiend for Dior, but this spring collection underwhelms me for some reason. I think it’s all the pink, unfortunately.

Me too. Pinks NOT me
The palette is so pretty! Loving the pearl embellishment, it’s a really nice touch and adds to the overall girly vibe.
Very girly indeed… imagine girl with long hair, flowy lace dress and lots of pink. Very pretty… but so NOT me. Hahahahah!!

LOL! This is a very girly palette
I think I know what you mean, Lily–a palette filled with such light, shimmery shades wouldn’t be my first pick but once I had it, I’m sure it would get a lot of use! These are so pretty and delicate!

This palette brightens the peeps very well.. Just a wash of either the shimmery white or pale pink and black eyeliner will give you a polished look. So easy…. AND yes, you’re right. It does look delicate
