February Empties

Another month, a few more things gone…. and this time, they’re mostly skincare.

Ever since I used up my Estee Lauder ANR serum, I replaced it with Antipodes Hosanna. In the picture here, I peeled off the label because I wanted to know how much was left. This serum has been keeping my face hydrated, but it didn’t wow me enough to garner a repurchase. I am using something from Aesop in place of this. Antipodes’ Manuka Honey mask is pretty good, but I also want to try another hydrating mask from Dermalogica. I haven’t bought that yet, so we’ll see. I’ve run out of my hydrating stuff, since the Clinique Moisture Surge is also gone. I have to get something soon.

I use toner daily, and when I ran out of my Dior one, I’ve been using this Laneige face mist instead. It’s OK, but I think it’s better as what it is. Just a face mist. The Estee Lauder Hydrationist moisturizer shown above is a deluxe sample, and I’m still using the full sized one. I’m already half way through. I have yet to write a review on this, so you’ll be seeing it soon :-)

Last but not least, I finally used up my Silky Girl nail polish remover. It is affordable and gets the job done. I’m not too fussed about this. I have since bought a Sally Hansen one. The little gold nugget you see there is thrown in for decorative measure, by my visual director, Little Miss Ashlyn. Yeah, my 3-year-old decided to add some bling in this picture :-P

As usual, please share your empties with me! It’s a good habit to use up stuff. Otherwise, money spent feels like a waste! Can’t say the same for makeup, but I’m slowly (and surely) changing my habit :-)

Usually my only empties are cleansing oil, bath and shampoo! Occasionally a powder foundation or two. But I did recently use up a clarins white plus velvet emulsion. Loved it and will soon replace with the SPF 20 version!

  2. Nice empties Lily! Ever have a bottle of shampoo that you want to use up and it JUST WON’T DIE? Haha yeah-that’s me right now. I want to use a new one, but not until I finish that one up!

  3. I`m so impressed that you can finish things this quickly. Ive just purchased this Antipodes mask — used it for the first time a couple days ago, I think I really like it! Can`t quite decide if its hydrating enough to leave on all night though.

Good for using up and replacing items with backups that you already have! I’m doing that, too, gauging what really needs to be repurchased and what doesn’t. Such a relief!

  5. I want to try that Manuka Honey mask SO bad!! I am such a fan of using honey in my skincare/body products and especially love the idea of using manuka honey–it really is an amazing ingredient!

I I would love to try the Manuka Honey mask, I actually went to go pick up some Manuka honey to use in homemade masks and I couldn’t believe the price if it! I have nothing used up this month, but skin care is something I absolutely use up before a repurchase, well beside masks :-)

I only have one mask left in my cupboard (Dior One Essential, which is excellent, by the way). The horror! I usually have a few, for different conditions. I have to get my act together, and get my hydrating mask asap. I think that one’s the most important.

  7. Some nice products you got (or I guess HAD) there :-)
