I reviewed the cleanser and toner last week, so I’ll wrap it up with the moisturizer and eye cream today. We’ve established that Pai uses clean organic ingredients, suitable for those with sensitive skin. I always believe in a good moisturizer and a moisturizing eye cream, and these 2 are not too bad. Omegas are great for our skin and body, and the Pai range of organic moisturizers and eye cream are packed with these essential fatty acids. I like that they have different moisturizers for different skin types, and I chose the one for combination skin.
Geranium & Thistle Combination Skin Cream (50ml)
Geranium & Thistle Combination Skin Cream is formulated to clear and rebalance an oily T-zone. I find this moisturizer non-greasy but I also find that it takes longer for it to be absorbed into my skin compared to the rest I’ve tried. I use 1 pump in the day, and 2 pumps at night because I sleep in an air conditioned room. This moisturizer doesn’t clog my skin, and as most moisturizers do, it leaves my skin soft and hydrated. I’m not sure how it rebalances my oily T-zone, because I still have to blot every 4 hours. I have not experienced a single breakout while I’m on this moisturizer, and it might be due to its high levels of Essential Fatty Acids in organic Thistle and Borage oil help to calm unsettled skin and even out skin tone.
I like that it keeps my skin clear and hydrated, but I don’t like that it takes longer to be absorbed into skin. If I start sweating right after applying this moisturizer, I can feel the moisturizer greasing up on me. So I have to stand in front of the fan and start patting my face. LOL! This is what I experienced the last few days when it was so hot, even air conditioning didn’t help!
Echium & Argan Soothing Eye Cream (15ml)
The delicate skin around the eyes is particularly thin so is most prone to fine lines and irritation. Renowned for its wide range of skin benefits, the Echium (in Pai Echium & Argan Eye Cream) contains Gamma Linolenic Acid and Stearidonic Acid – two concentrated forms of Omegas 3 & 6. As well as regenerating skin for a smooth and bright eye area, these essential fatty acids are also powerful anti-inflammatories. Their cooling and calming effect soothes sensitive eyes and deeply replenishes skin prone to dryness.
I took that out of the box and it summarizes the eye cream perfectly. My eyes sometimes get really itchy, and I love using this eye cream to calm it down. I haven’t experienced any irritation while I’m on this eye cream, and in fact, I can feel that my eyes are kept moisturized. I use it every morning and night to keep my eyes comfortable.
I have to make a note that both these products have an expiration of 6 months only. It’s probably due to lack of preservatives which are supposed to be harmful to the skin. I sometimes stray from my skincare to try other brands, then come back to it, but for these 2, I know I have to use them up before I try other products. Otherwise, the 6 months time will be up and these products won’t be good for the skin anymore. Something for you to think about if you’re a person who doesn’t use up your skincare within 6 months. I only have a quarter left on my moisturizer, and I can’t tell how much eye cream I have left. All I can say is I’m going to be using these 2 exclusively until they’re gone.
Among the cleanser, toner, moisturizer and eye cream, my favourites are the cleanser and eye cream. The toner didn’t wow me at all, and the moisturizer isn’t any different from other moisturizers with basic functions. If your skin flares up easily, you might be able to appreciate the clean organic ingredients that Pai has to offer. This range has kept my skin clean and fresh, and a welcomed breath of fresh air. It’s like a break to the countryside, an escape from the polluted city. Will I repurchase? Yes to the cleanser and eye cream.
Have you tried anything from Pai? I hope the review has helped. I find that age has changed my obsession from makeup to skincare. Nothing beats good skin, my friends
