Review: Omorovicza Thermal Cleansing Balm

I’ve been wanting to tell you about this cleansing balm. This is one that I save for once a week. It is a luxury product for sure, and that makes it all the more special. I use it before the mask which I absolutely love, and this weekly ritual is like spa at home.

Omorovicza

When I opened the tub, I didn’t know what to expect. Look at this stuff. Looks like mud, mud and sand mixed together. I guess it’s the same as the mask, but this one is black and black makes me think of dirt. LOL! I also expected this cleansing balm to feel sandy and coarse, and I was so wrong. It is very smooth and just a bit is enough for the whole face. It smells a little like lime peel – not a scent you’d expect, and it is actually relaxing while you massage the oil into your skin. For this product, make sure both hands and face are DRY. Unlike other cleansing balms, this is more oil based. The balm will melt and on my skin, it turns into a thicker oil.

Picture below shows how much I use, and that’s more than enough for the whole face and neck. After massaging, I use a warm damp face cloth (or a muslin cloth, whatever you prefer) to wipe my face. This cleansing balm does not emulsify. I realised it’s best to use cloth, wet with WARM water. I gently wipe my face and neck in circular motion, and the cloth is tinted grey. I’m not entirely sure if it’s the balm or if I’m actually so darn dirty. I think I want to believe it’s the balm :-P

After cleansing, my face is left soft, very soft and it feels very clean. Like I mentioned earlier, I complete the ritual by applying the deep cleansing mask. The total effect? Baby bottom soft poreless skin :-) I bought this at Cult Beauty (non affiliated) when there was promotion. Bought both the cleansing balm and mask as a duo for a cheaper price. There was also VAT discount, so it worked out less painful for my wallet. Have you tried this Hungarian brand? I loved this when I first tried it, and I’m loving it even more now. Highly recommended!

The writer of amodelrecommends recommends (well, duh) this brand as well!!! It looks like a yummy black sesame paste! :p Do you still get taxed when stuff ships from overseas to you? Over here it’s getting sucks because I have been taxed on all beauty order. Even the damn tangle teezer got taxed!!! It makes me very cautious about online beauty purchase now. :(

    • Lily

Oh, we’re lucky here. As long as the purchases aren’t too big, I don’t get taxed :-)

Been hearing great things about this balm! Got a sample of this, so will make it a at-home-spa night of it too :)
I’ve tried the Eve Lom one, which I loved in the beginning, then gradually fell out of love because I found it clogged my pores after frequent use, so maybe you’re on to something here with a weekly use. Currently loving RMK’s version, which is slightly more affordable, no clogging, leaves skin smooooff and smells really nice.

    • Lily

Oh, I hope you’ll like it! Sorry to hear about Eve Lom but I haven’t really tried it yet. Haven’t tried the RMK either, but I do love my Bobbi Brown one :-)

This brand is definitely something I’d like to try! The truth is that I’m a little afraid that I would get sucked into. I’ve heard nothing but good things but they are so pricey! Glad to hear that you only need a small amount and the results are so satisfying! :)

    • Lily

Hahaha! I know what you mean, and that’s why I didn’t purchase it until it was actually much more affordable :-) It took me one whole year of wanting, before actually buying.

  • Icaria

Glad to know you like both! I know the balm is getting a lot of love and I sooo want to try it. Some day I hope! :)

    • Lily

I think you won’t regret it!
