If you have been following this blog for a while, you’ll probably know that I’m a diligent sunscreen user. If you don’t use sunscreen on a daily basis, even if the day is cloudy, then you should. You really should. If premature skin ageing and dark spots are your concerns, the first thing you should do is to protect your skin from these harmful UV rays while treating the particular concern. If you’re using skincare that targets those concerns yet you’re NOT wearing sunscreen, babe, you’re just wasting your money and time. OK. End of nag.

It’s a mouthful isn’t it? Guerlain Blanc de Perle Smoothing UV Base Brightening Pearl Perfection SPF30 PA+++. Let’s just shorten it to UV Base. This Guerlain UV Base acts as a sunscreen and a face primer at the same time. I’ve been using this for the past month or so, and here’s what I think.

I used to wonder how much better a skincare product would be if the amount spent on advertising, packaging and hiring top notch celebrities and models was actually used on the quality of the skincare itself. When I was approached by an unknown company to test their products, I was initially hesitant. I can’t find any reviews online. In fact, I can’t find much info on the company at all. I did question its credibility, but then even big luxury brands were once a nobody. It takes time to build credibility, and most of all, people who are willing to give it a go.
